Mimimi Games is Shutting Down :'(

It is with a heavy heart I announce that Mimimi Games, one of my most favourite game studios, is shutting down. They announced that Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, which received overwhelmingly positive reviews, will be their final game and they won't be making games anymore. They did: however, assured players that Shadow Gambit will be supported and will get a big content update later this year.

Mimimi Games greatly contributed to the real time tactics genre which is so niche that it was dead before they revived it with their magnificent Shadow Tactics, which is one of my most favourite games of all time. Then they developed the magnificent Desperados 3. After that they released a standalone expansion to Shadow Tactics, Aiko's Choice.

They got the formula down for the real time tactics genre. They knew what we wanted from RTT games and they took great inspiration from the genre's classics like Commandos. All their games were incredibly enjoyable, bug free and premium quality. They were a big joy for me to play. These games could be extremely hardcore if you wanted yet also beginner friendly on easier difficulties. They introduced many gamers, who haven't played the Commandos series, to the world of stealth strategy real time tactics.

I'm extremely upset at this news. It's also very sad to see a high quality studio shut down. I will forever remember Mimimi Games as one of the best game studios of all time. I hope the developers within the studio will find great positions in other game studios. Meanwhile it's quite disappointing to see this niche genre die out again. I hope the torch will be passed down to another studio.
